Matthew Borghi

Matthew Borghi is a seasoned professional in carbon markets with significant experience in various managerial roles. Currently serving as Carbon Markets Manager at Drax Group since February 2023, Matthew previously held the position of Carbon Partnerships Manager at Pledge, where responsibilities included establishing the carbon procurement and sales function to facilitate access to carbon removal portfolios utilizing innovative technologies like BECCS, DACCS, and ERW. Prior to this, Matthew worked as Carbon Portfolio Manager at ClimateCare, overseeing the construction and management of tailored carbon credit portfolios for corporate clients, along with handling contract negotiations and portfolio administration. Earlier roles at Rolls-Royce encompassed cost strategy, measurement system design, and aircraft evaluation, demonstrating a diverse skill set within the engineering and aerospace sectors. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Business Management from the University of Warwick.
