Melvin Newton

Melvin Newton is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in turbine and mechanical engineering, currently serving as the Lead Engineer in Turbine Engineering at Drax Group since February 2022. Previously, Melvin held roles including Maintenance Manager at Mitsubishi Chemical Europe and Lead Maintenance Engineer at NIPPON GOHSEI UK LTD. Starting a career in engineering with positions at P&O Ferries and P&O Cruises as a 3rd Engineering Officer, Melvin has developed strong skills in maintenance planning, project management, and asset management. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Teesside University and an HND in Marine and Mechanical Engineering from South Shields Marine and Technical College.
