Dream Reality Interactive
Richard Bates has extensive experience in the gaming and virtual reality industry. Richard co-founded Dream Reality Interactive in 2016 and served as the CTO, guiding Unity-based development efforts and working on projects such as "Hold The World" and "Sky". Previously, Richard worked as a Technical Director at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe from 2015 to 2016, overseeing programming and technical work. Richard also worked at Media Molecule as a Programmer in 2015. Richard's longest tenure was at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where they held various roles from 1999 to 2015, including Technical Director and Lead Programmer for SingStar. Richard was responsible for managing a team, establishing relationships with other teams, and proposing and prototyping new features. Richard also played a key role in developing the platform model for SingStar games and selecting the chipset for USB microphones. Additionally, they served as an Advisory Board Member for Develop Conference in 2010.
Richard Bates attended Imperial College London from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a MEng degree in Computing (Software Engineering).
Dream Reality Interactive
Dream Reality Interactive is a group of virtual and augmented reality developers with a pedigree of making immersive games and experiences. The core team previously worked at Sony's London Studio where they developed titles such as PlayStation VR Worlds and AR games for PlayStation's Wonderbook series. They are working on variousprojects, including the recently announced 'Hold The World', an interactive VR experience in association with Sky, Factory 42, The Natural History Museum and Sir David Attenborough.
