The Distributed Renewable Energy Enhancement Facility (DREEF) was created to unlock the potential of early-stage distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects.

Our mission is to bridge the critical gap between energy needs and bankable project delivery by ensuring that projects achieve full technical, legal, environmental, and investment readiness before financing.

DREEF will help developers generate a pipeline of investment-grade DRE projects and standardise the various stages of project preparation, leveraging the Distributed Renewable Energy Lending Toolkit (DRELT) which integrates the due diligence and credit experience gathered from anchor commercial lenders such as InfraCredit.

By working upstream—before project finance—DREEF provides the structure, expertise, and catalytic support needed to accelerate the clean energy transition, mobilise local and international capital, and deliver lasting impact for communities, MSMEs, and institutions across Nigeria and by extension, Africa.
