Ajantha Bhat is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in big data technologies and contributions to open source projects. Currently a Senior Software Engineer at Dremio since September 2021, Ajantha has been involved in developing features for Apache Iceberg and Project Nessie. Prior to Dremio, Ajantha worked at Huawei Technologies India from February 2014 to September 2021, holding various roles including System Architect and Senior Technical Lead, where significant contributions were made to the performance optimization of CarbonData. Ajantha has also served as a Committer and PMC member for multiple Apache projects, including Apache Polaris, Apache Iceberg, and Apache CarbonData, actively participating in their development since February 2018. Educationally, Ajantha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
