Oliver Mooney has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and entrepreneurship. In 2000, they co-founded Willow Software, a company focused on creating games for the Nintendo GameBoy Color. However, due to the release of the GameBoy Advance, the project lost traction. From 2007 to 2010, Oliver worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Higher Education Authority. In 2011, they founded GetBulb, an online platform for creating custom infographics. Oliver handled various responsibilities, including pitching to investors, managing contractors, sales and marketing, and software development. Oliver secured significant external funding, graduated from StartupBootcamp, and won the Irish Times Digital Challenge. Oliver then joined Sagax Technologies in 2016 as a Senior Software Developer until 2018. In 2018, they worked as a Senior Software Consultant before joining DREST as a Senior Software Developer. Oliver used a variety of technologies during their tenure at DREST, such as Clojure, Datomic, Typescript, AWS services, and Postgres.
Oliver Mooney pursued their education by first enrolling at University College Dublin from 1994 to 1999. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on English and Sociology. Then, in the year 2004, Oliver attended Griffith College Dublin, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, concluding their studies there in 2005.
