Dean Martinez

Dean Martinez has extensive work experience, starting in 2000 as an Assistant State's Attorney in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Dean handled various divisions, including narcotics prosecutions, misdemeanor traffic, and appeals. In 2003, they served as an Attorney Detailed to the Governor's Office in the Illinois Department of Financial Instituions. Dean then moved on to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in 2004, where they held roles such as Chief of Staff and Secretary, overseeing operations and regulatory functions.

In 2009, Dean joined APICS, initially as the Senior Vice President of Operations, responsible for overseeing IT, HR, and facilities. Dean later became the Executive Vice President, providing direct oversight to the Legal, Certification, Project Management, and Information Technology departments. Dean also served as the General Counsel, providing legal analysis, counsel, and recommendations to the company, as well as managing policy and compliance issues.

Most recently, in 2020, Dean became the Chief Executive Officer of DRI.

Dean Martinez completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science at DePaul University from 1993 to 1997. Dean then pursued their Juris Doctor degree at Loyola University Chicago, School of Law from 1997 to 2000.
