Laurie Miller

Laurie Miller has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Laurie is currently working at DRI as the Vice President of Programming & the DRI Foundation since November 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Programming at the same company from April 2021 onwards.

Before joining DRI, Laurie worked at Jackson Kelly PLLC for a decade from July 2011 to April 2021, where they served as a Member. Laurie'sprimary practice areas included health care, medical professional liability, long-term care, product liability (pharmaceutical and medical devices), mass/class actions, and commercial litigation. During their time there, Laurie represented clients in various aspects of civil litigation and played a crucial role in pre-trial, appellate, and negotiation proceedings. Laurie also assisted in managing litigation budgets and achieving litigation goals.

Prior to their tenure at Jackson Kelly PLLC, Laurie worked at Ellis & Winters LLP as a Counsel from June 2008 to June 2011. Laurie'swork focused on complex business litigation, medical professional liability, and nursing home defense. Laurie handled a wide range of responsibilities related to civil litigation.

From May 2001 to June 2008, Laurie was a Member at Jackson Kelly PLLC, where they were part of a regional law firm with over 175 attorneys. Laurie'sprimary practice areas included products liability, pharmaceutical litigation, medical professional liability, class actions, and commercial litigation. Laurie gained experience as a second chair for a multi-million dollar arbitration, which involved preparing witnesses, questioning them during proceedings, preparing exhibits, arguing motions, and coordinating the overall case presentation.

Laurie's legal career began in May 2000 at Pickrel Schaeffer & Ebeling, where they served as a Law Clerk until May 2001.

Laurie Miller attended Wright State University from 1993 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Dayton School of Law from 1998 to 2001, earning a Juris Doctor degree in Law. In 2014, Laurie obtained a certification as a Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional from LASIE.
