Lee Williams has a diverse and extensive work experience in the digital media industry. Lee started their career in 1994 at Trader Media Group, where they served as the New Media Director, leading the strategy, launch, marketing, sales, and online operations for the successful digital classifieds brand, Auto Trader. Lee also contributed to the company's business development and played a role in launching Auto Trader on the internet.
In 2001, Williams joined Trader Group (ACP Media / Bauer) as the Digital Director/GM, where they developed the strategy and implemented the commercial aspects of leading magazine websites in the motoring and female magazine space. During their tenure, over 18 websites were launched, contributing to significant print and digital revenue.
From 2011 to 2013, they took on the role of Executive Director Digital at DMGT's Northcliffe Media Board, responsible for driving digital revenue growth and achieving monthly profits. Lee then joined Haymarket Media Group as the Director of Digital Revenues and Executive Director of Pistonheads, a prominent automotive community and marketplace. Williams led the development, innovation, and monetization of digital revenues through various strategies, including display advertising, lead generation, data, and membership.
In 2016, Williams founded LuxSeeker, a UK luxury marketplace offering a wide range of luxury products from leading retailers and specialists. Lee also started working at Digital Warrior, providing digital strategy advisory services to media companies, investors, and start-ups. Notably, they played a key role in the successful acquisition and reboot of PistonHeads.com for global auto marketplace leader CarGurus.
Williams's recent roles include Non-Executive Director positions at Driftrock, The Car Expert, and WhatHouse?, where they provided their expertise and guidance in strategic decision-making and business operations.
Additionally, they served as the Chairperson of the IAB in 2007 and has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership and strategic thinking throughout their career.
Lee Williams attended the University of Portsmouth from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Studies.
