Jon Marcar has extensive experience in the horticultural and agricultural sectors, beginning as Farms Manager and Assistant Manager at W. Brice and Sons Ltd from July 1996 to April 2001. Following this, Jon served as Senior Grower and Operations Manager at Polehouse Nurseries Ltd from April 2001 to April 2007, before becoming Lead Agronomist at Berrygardens Growers Ltd until January 2015. Jon then held the role of Agronomy Manager at Berry Gardens Ltd from January 2015 to July 2020, and is currently the Production Manager for Strawberry in Northern Europe at Driscoll's since July 2024. Additionally, Jon manages Extensive Cropping, Propagation, and Agronomy at Boxford Suffolk Farms Ltd from July 2020. Notably, Jon received the Agronomist of the Year Award in 2015 from Grower Horticulture Week. Jon holds a degree in Commercial Horticulture from Writtle College, completed in 1996.
