Senior Director - Plant Breeding Innovations

Rick Harrison has extensive experience in plant breeding and agricultural innovation, with a notable tenure at Driscoll's from June 2008 to December 2024, where Rick served as Vice President of Global Variety Development and previously as Senior Director of Plant Breeding Innovations. In these roles, Rick managed global teams to develop high-demand berry varieties and led initiatives to enhance genetic gain and efficiency in strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Prior to Driscoll's, Rick worked at the Scottish Crop Research Institute as a Plant Breeder, focusing on developing machine-harvestable raspberry varieties for the Scottish market. Rick holds a PhD in Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Breeding and a Master's degree in Horticultural Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy from Iowa State University.
