Rob Smith

Rob Smith is an experienced engineering professional, currently serving as the Head of Development & Test and Chief Engineer at Drive System Design since June 2023. Prior to this role, Rob held various engineering leadership positions at hofer powertrain from October 2015 to June 2023, including Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager, Test & Development Manager, Senior Project Engineer, and Project Engineer. Earlier experience includes serving as a Test and Development Engineer at Ricardo from September 2012 to October 2015, with a six-month rotation in the Transmission Design Department. Rob began the career as an Undergraduate Engineer at Bentley Motors Ltd in two separate stints in 2010 and 2011, and as an Undergraduate Test Engineer at Tickford Powertrain in 2009. Educational credentials include a Master of Engineering in Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University, completed in 2012.
