Luca Busin has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Luca started their career as an HCILab Intern at the University of Udine in 2004, where they worked on projects related to three-dimensional user interfaces. During this time, they designed and developed an engine for facial expression of 3D humanoids, optimized algorithms and geometric models, and conducted user testing and experimental studies.
In 2006, Luca worked as a 3D UI Consultant at C.A.R.M.A s.r.l., where they continued their work on three-dimensional user interfaces.
Luca then moved on to work as a UI Consultant at e-learning4All, designing and developing the web UI for an e-learning portal.
From 2007 to 2012, Luca worked as a Software Analyst and Developer at Forgital Italy S.P.A. Luca was responsible for software usability, user assistance, and development of new applications. Luca also contributed to requirements and technical aspects of major development specifications, as well as technical design and documentation.
As a freelance IT Consultant in 2012, Luca co-authored a research paper based on their MSc thesis and worked on various IT projects, including designing the architecture and development of an Android app for a start-up, and porting a legacy ERP to .NET framework 4.
Luca then joined Commonwealth Bank in 2013 as a Software Developer. Luca was the technology expert for the bank's Business Resilience program, where they designed and implemented a web-based application to support the bank-wide Business Resilience framework. Luca also developed tools for IT Service Continuity Management.
Most recently, Luca joined Driven in 2016 as the CTO.
Luca Busin's education history begins with their attendance at Liceo Scientifico N. Tron from 1995 to 2000, where they pursued a scientific high school education. Following this, they enrolled at the Università degli Studi di Udine from 2000 to 2004 and completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Later, Luca pursued further education at the same institution from 2011 to 2012, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) degree, also in Computer Science. Additionally, in June 2017, Luca completed a certification program called Startup School Online offered by Y Combinator.
