Avalisha Fisher has a diverse work experience in engineering and project management. Avalisha started their career at Rowe Surveying & Engineering Company, Inc. in 1990 where they worked as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager. Avalisha handled multiple road projects, site design projects, flood map revisions, and supervised drafters and field crews. In 2004, they joined Gulf States Engineering as the Civil Engineering Department Head. Here, they managed various projects, including industrial facilities, roadway and rail plans, flood studies, and map revisions. In 2006, Fisher established their own company, Driven Engineering, Inc., where they serve as President. The company handles projects for a wide range of clients in different sectors. Fisher also holds advisory and board positions at the University of South Alabama College of Engineering and Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP). Additionally, they served as a volunteer and treasurer on the Board of Governors for Semmes Volunteer Fire Department.
Avalisha Fisher obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of South Alabama from 1987 to 1993. Prior to that, they graduated from Fairhope High School in 1987 with a High School Diploma. In terms of additional certifications, Avalisha Fisher holds a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification from the Association of State Floodplain Managers, Inc. (ASFPM) obtained in 2019. Avalisha is also a Professional Engineer (PE), holds a TWIC Card, and is e-railsafe certified.
