Jason Rae has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jason is currently the Director of Engineering at DroneBase since August 2020. Prior to this role, they were the Engineering Lead at DroneBase from May 2020 to August 2020.

Before joining DroneBase, Jason worked at FutureGov from April 2013 to January 2018. Jason started as a Web Developer and contributed to the development and evolution of several websites. Jason then took on the role of Senior Developer & Systems Administrator, where they took over DevOps responsibilities and provided technical advice to clients and the wider team.

From October 2008 to February 2013, Jason worked at Omnifone in various roles. Jason started as a Commissioning Engineer, releasing Musicstation and Sony Ericsson's PlaynowPlus. Jason then became a Lead Developer, responsible for designing the complete code architecture for Sony's Music Unlimited for BIVL devices. Jason also worked as a Web Application Developer, developing UI features using GWT technology.

In addition, Jason has also worked at Womad as a Buggy Driver/Artist Liaison from 2009 to 2012, at Babelmedia as a Mobile Porting Professional Services from November 2007 to September 2008, and at Bluestreak as a Software Developer from October 2006 to February 2007. Their responsibilities in these roles included porting Java phone games and applications, producing portability assessments, and developing portable versions of C++ flash platforms.

Jason Rae attended the University of Sussex from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Convolutional Neural Networks in March 2020, Machine Learning in October 2019, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects in October 2019, all from Coursera.
