Michael Mommsen

Michael Mommsen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michael is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at DroneBase since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Airbus as a Backend Dev from July 2018 to May 2021. Before Airbus, Michael worked at Historical Information Gatherers, Inc. (HIG) as a Software Developer from February 2014 to July 2018. In this role, they wrote software to extract historical spatial data and improved communication between systems. From September 2011 to January 2014, Michael worked as a Research Assistant at the Minnesota Population Center, where they processed large datasets using Python and SQL. Michael also gained experience as a Teachers Assistant at Mary Hogan from September 2010 to June 2011 and as a Database Intern at Hedberg Maps in June to August 2009.

Michael Mommsen earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Middlebury College, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at the University of Minnesota, completing their studies from 2011 to 2014.
