Edwin Hayes

Edwin Hayes is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in robotics and mechatronics. Currently serving as Engineering Manager for Ground Robotics at DroneDeploy since August 2021, Edwin previously held the position of Head of Mechatronics at Rocos, where responsibilities included understanding customer requirements and designing edge software for robotics integration. Prior experience includes Technology Development Manager at Aeronavics Ltd, where Edwin developed long-term technology roadmaps and managed a team of engineers, and R&D Project Manager at Unison Networks Ltd, responsible for leading innovative UAV projects for asset inspection. Edwin's early career featured roles as a Product Development Engineer at Microwave New Zealand Ltd and Steelbro New Zealand, with a strong academic foundation including a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechatronics, both from the University of Canterbury.
