Mathias's early career includes service in the Norwegian Armed Forces as a Corporal in the King's Guard Administration. Educational qualifications consist of a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Science in Computational Engineering from Leibniz Universität Hannover.
