Dan Karney

Dan Karney is a seasoned engineering leader currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Dropbox since December 2025. Previously, Dan held the position of Engineering Manager at Riot Games from June 2022 to November 2025, where significant contributions included supporting over 100 million players and achieving substantial cost savings. Dan's extensive experience also encompasses roles as Head of Engineering at Alltrue, Co-Founder and Head of Engineering at arturo, and Engineering Manager at Etsy, where Dan played a pivotal role in launching Etsy Plus. With a foundational background as a Co-Founder at HelloFlo and experience in various engineering roles including Director of Engineering at TargetSpot, Dan has demonstrated a consistent ability to build high-performing teams, drive project success, and innovate within fast-paced environments. Dan holds a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona.
