Ann Wong

Ann Wong is the current Chief Financial Officer at DryGro, an agriculture technology start-up. Ann is also a former Director of Finance & Business Operations at NBCUniversal Media, LLC.

Ann has always been interested in environmental and social issues. Ann decided to take a career sabbatical to focus on these issues full-time. During their sabbatical, they worked as an advisor and board member to start-ups and charities. Her areas of focus included strategy & planning, budgeting & forecasting, organisational design, governance & risk management, and COVID19 immediate & long-term strategies.

Ann returned to the corporate world when they were recruited by DryGro. They were impressed by their experience in building a successful finance function at NBCUniversal and their passion for environmental issues.

At DryGro, Ann is responsible for the financial strategy of the company. Ann is working with the CEO and other executive team members to ensure that the company is financially sustainable and to grow the business in a responsible way.

Ann Wong attended the School for Social Entrepreneurs, where they learned how to scale and accelerate their business. Ann then attended UBC Sauder School of Business, where they earned their Bachelor of Commerce in International Business and Accounting. Ann also did a student exchange at Singapore Management University. Finally, they became a Chartered Professional Accountant through the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
