Director Program Management Office at DSP Concepts

Pete Cooper has a long and varied work experience. Pete began their career in 1987 at REMEC (Cobham Sensor Systems) as the Director of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing. In this role they managed mechanical engineering, design/drafting, and metal fabrication with a budget of $5M, 75+ staff, and manufactured $10M/year in fabricated hardware. Pete was also responsible for bid/proposal, M&A due diligence, merger integration for mechanical technologies, supplier development/management, and technology roadmap and development/qualification of new technologies.

In 2008, Cooper began working for Better Place as the Head of Business Development for Asia (non-Japan). In this role, they were responsible for government/policy engagement and strategy, investor ID and development, coordination of auto strategy for Asia markets, strategic partner engagement, go-to-market partner development, and utility interactions. Pete also served as the Head of Business Development for Better Place, where they were responsible for relationship with Governor, federal and state legislature, including development, lobbying, and successful passage of electric vehicle legislation. Pete also developed strategic relationships with primary Hawaii utility (HECO and subsidiaries) and spearheaded investor outreach.

In 2013, Cooper started CooperVentures Consulting as a Principal. Pete also began working for TidalWave Interactive/LiBLoF, Inc. as the Head of Marketing and Sales and Board Member. In this role, they crafted marketing strategy, selected high value verticals, created offering, pricing, messaging and collateral. Pete also developed channels to multiple verticals (nightlife and entertainment, non-profits, niche travel, marketing agencies, and more), built pipelines and drove pipeline volume.

In 2015, Cooper began working for Lucid Motors as the Senior Director of Programs and Director of Software and Software Program Management. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of embedded systems development for the Lucid Air sedan and power train products. This included systems architecture, software/hardware development, relevant 3rd party sourcing (software and systems), test and integration, vehicle build and test. Technical domains included communications and power network architecture, infotainment, and automotive controls. Pete also began working for Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions as the Senior Program Manager. In this role, they were responsible for a high profile $22M program to design/build microelectronics subsystems for cutting edge radar using industry leading RF technology.

In 2021, Cooper began working for DSP Concepts as the Director Program Management Office. Pete also began working for Ocean Beach Performance Health as the Business Owner.

Pete Cooper attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. In 2007, they went on to pursue a Master of Science in Management at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, which they completed in 2008.
