Sam Waters has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry. In 2021, they began working as a Sr. Software Engineer for DSP Concepts. Prior to this, they were an Audio software engineering consultant for Cepstrum llc in 2020. In 2019, they took a voluntary sabbatical and was "funemployed". From 2013 to 2008, they were a Staff DSP Software Engineer for Cirrus Logic, where they were a team lead and team member for many projects, such as voice biometrics, telephony, hearing augmentation, and far field processing. Sam specialized in DSP systems, challenging fixed point ports, and mentoring. From 2008 to 2007, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Acoustic Technologies, where they were responsible for feature additions, customer integration, and porting of SoundClear modules. From 2007 to 2003, they were a Principal Software Engineer for L-3 Communications -Avionics, where they were a member of the JeppView team and worked closely with Jeppesen to develop database features. From 2003 to 2001, they worked for Fender Musical Instruments Corp. as a Software Design Engineer and Product Engineer. Finally, from 2001 to 2003, they were a Design Engineer for Intelligent Mechatronics Systems.
Sam Waters attended the University of Waterloo from 1996 to 2001 and received a BASc in Electrical Engineering. Prior to this, they attended Earl of March High School.
