Jakob Asmundsson

Jakob Asmundsson is the Chief Executive Officer at DTE, a role they have held since 2025. They previously served as Chief Executive Officer of KORTA (now Rapyd Europe) from 2018 to 2020, led its restructuring after Monarch Airlines' bankruptcy, advised Rapyd in the Valitor acquisition, and were a 6.4% shareholder (third-largest) in the company during that period. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Solution Architect at Intel Corporation (2003-2005) and held Chief Financial and Operating Officer as well as Chief Risk Officer roles at Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank, with a later period as Chief Financial Officer of Straumur Investment Bank (2011-2013). From 2016 to 2018 they were Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Iceland, and since 2012 they have served in various board and non-executive director roles, including Executive Chairman of Jakás (2012–present).
