Andre Costa

Andre Costa has a diverse work experience in the fields of data science, research, and finance. Andre is currently working as the Principal Data Scientist at DTEX Systems since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Data Science at Teletraffic Research Centre, University of Adelaide from 2018 to 2022, where they led a team specializing in mathematical and statistical modeling for various industries. Andre also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the same institution from 2012 to 2018. Before joining the University of Adelaide, Andre worked as a Quantitative Analyst at ANZ from 2010 to 2011, where they conducted quantitative analysis to support market and credit risk operations. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at The Portland House Group Pty. Ltd., focusing on mathematical finance and quantitative trading systems. Andre also has experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne from 2004 to 2007, where they conducted mathematical research and taught undergraduate courses. Andre started their career as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Adelaide in 2003.

Andre Costa obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Adelaide, where they studied from 1999 to 2002.
