Wit Soontaranun

Board Member at DTGO

Wit Soontaranun is currently a Board Member at DTGO, and was previously with Banpu Public Company Limited and Chulalongkorn University.

Soontaranun began their career at Chulalongkorn University in 1997 as a Program Director for the Cleaner Technology Internship program. This program was a collaboration between the university and National Science, Technology and Development Agency (NSTDA). Wit’s responsibilities included overseeing the program’s multi-disciplinary professionals, which spanned fields such as Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metal and Mining Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, and Material Science.

In 2007, Soontaranun left their position at Chulalongkorn University to join Banpu Public Company Limited as Senior Vice President for Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Community Development (HSEC). Wit’s responsibilities at Banpu expanded to include community development when quality management separated from operations. Soontaranun held this position until 2013 when they transitioned to their current role as Board Member at DTGO.

Wit Soontaranun has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. Wit also attended Satit Pratumwan Demonstration School for high school and Bangkok Christian College for primary school.
