Karsten Becker's work experience includes various roles and positions in different companies. Karsten began their career at Hessische Bereitschaftspolizei as a Polizeimeister, where they were involved in tasks such as airport security and event security. After that, they worked at Polizeidirektion Bad Homburg and Polizeidirektion Friedberg as a Polizeimeister and Polizeihauptmeister respectively.

In 1989, Becker joined Hafeco Consultancy as a Programmeur, where they developed software for airline companies and airport caterers using dBase III/IV/V and dBase for Windows.

From 1996 to 1998, they worked at KAS as a Software Developer, focusing on software development for the retail sector using C, C++, MS Access, and Visual Studio.

Since 1999, Becker has been associated with MeteoGroup, initially as a (Senior) Software Engineer, responsible for managing the meteorological workstation and developing a new meteorological/graphical workstation called MIDAS.

In subsequent roles at MeteoGroup, they served as a Teamleader DataServices NL, Manager DataServices, and Teamleader Base Product Engineering, where they led multiple international development teams, managed legacy products and data streams, and implemented Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Their most recent role at DTN is the Tech Lead Model Data, which they have held since 2020.

Overall, Karsten Becker has a diverse professional background with experience in software development, data provisioning, team leadership, and meteorological platforms.

Karsten Becker attended Polizeischule Hessen from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a degree in PHW. Prior to that, from 1980 to 1986, they studied at Augustiner Gymnasium in Friedberg/Hessen, Germany. In addition to their formal education, Karsten Becker obtained certifications in AWS Technical Essentials Day and Architecting on AWS from AWS Training and Certification in 2019.
