Sam Lillo

Sam Lillo is a Senior Software Engineer at DTN since May 2022, previously serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at NOAA, where an empirical-dynamical machine learning model for subseasonal prediction was developed and operationalized for the Climate Prediction Center. Sam's academic background includes earning a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma, where extensive research was conducted on Rossby wave triggering and error diagnostics in numerical weather prediction. Prior experience encompasses roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, Research Meteorologist at Planalytics, and various positions at the National Weather Service and NH Department of Transportation, focusing on forecasting and meteorological research.
