Basit Ali is a PhD researcher at DTU - Technical University of Denmark since February 2021. Previously, Basit worked as a Horizon2020 / MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE Fellowship First Stage Researcher at KU Leuven from May 2017 to August 2019, focusing on the European Training Network for the Design and Recycling of Rare-Earth Permanent Magnet Motors and Generators in Hybrid and Full Electric Vehicles (DEMETER). During this time, Basit completed a secondment at LESS COMMON METALS LIMITED in March 2019, analyzing the impact of electrolyte conductivity on the operation of Nd electrolysis cells. Earlier experience includes a role as a Student Researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology from February 2015 to May 2017, conducting research on electrochemical recycling of Indium, as well as internships at ICMAB-CSIC and Atlas Honda Limited. Basit holds a Master of Engineering in Rare Metals Engineering from the University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.
