Despina Douka is a PhD student at DTU Health Tech, focusing on the development of nanozymes for antioxidant protection in hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers. Previous experience includes serving as a Student Assistant at Evnia, where Despina co-authored an article on preference testing in medical devices and analyzed ISO standards. Additional roles included a Student Assistant position at DTU Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, conducting experiments and preparing flow setups, as well as an internship at Neogal S.A, performing physicochemical and microbiological analyses of dairy products. Despina holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from DTU and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
