Xiao CHEN currently serves as the Head of Section for Structural Virtual Testing and Digitalization at DTU Wind and Energy Systems, focusing on enhancing the efficacy of physical testing for wind turbine structural components through advanced virtual testing and digital technologies. In addition, Xiao co-heads the DTU Large Scale Facility alongside Kim Branner to maintain its status as a premier testing facility. With a robust academic foundation, Xiao holds the position of Associate Professor at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, contributing expertise in advanced testing and simulation of large composite and steel structures. Previous roles include senior researcher and head of the Composite Materials and Structures Group at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Houston. Xiao's educational background includes a Doctorate in Structural Engineering from Nagoya University, a Master’s from Northeastern University in China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from Liaoning Technical University.
