Mark Cheeseman

Mark Cheeseman is an HPC Expert at DUG with extensive experience in high performance and parallel computing architecture and software. They have worked with academic and commercial researchers to optimize algorithms, software, and workflows across various domains, including weather/climate, seismic, bioinformatics, and machine learning. Mark has held positions such as Computational Scientist at KAUST and Senior HPC Specialist at the National Computational Infrastructure, where they led teams to enhance computational models and reduce runtimes. They earned an MSc in Earth & Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Alberta and a B.Sc. in Physics from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
