Description
Dunn County, created in 1854 from Chippewa County, is named after Charles Dunn, state senator and chief justice of the Wisconsin Territory. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the county seat is Menomonie.

There's much to see and do in Dunn County! Our picturesque Main Street in Menomonie, the County seat, and neighboring communities are surrounded by natural wonders, historic locations, and thriving downtowns with unique gift shops and dining options. 

If you're bringing children along on your visit the many parks and recreational activities in Dunn County, including the band concerts, water park, skate park, bike trails, and floating down the Red Cedar river.
