Brand Designer II at Duolingo

Alison Emmel's work experience begins with an internship at P/Kaufmann in 2016. Alison then moved to Leibowitz Branding & Design as a Design Intern, where they gained experience creating identities and communication materials for various clients. In 2018, they joined Makeable as a Design Fellow, working on UX/UI designs, digital ads, and marketing assets for clients such as Chop't Salad and The Brooklyn Museum. Alison continued at Makeable as a Designer, contributing to visual identity exploration for client branding. In 2019, Alison joined WeWork as a Graphic Designer, where they ensured visual consistency across platforms and supported sales and marketing teams. Alison later became the Lead Graphic Designer before leaving in 2021. Alison then worked at Compass as a Designer for a year before joining Duolingo as a Brand Designer II in 2022.

Alison Emmel began their education in 2013 at SUNY Oneonta, where they studied Computer Art until 2014. In 2014, they attended Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici, focusing on Art and Design for a year. From 2015 to 2018, Alison attended Syracuse University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Communications Design.
