Joseph Staten is a seasoned creative leader with extensive experience in the gaming industry. Currently serving as a Creative Consultant at Duolingo since July 2025, Staten previously held the position of Creative Director at Netflix from April 2023 to June 2025, where leadership was demonstrated for the flagship AAA game team, developing an original IP for both gaming and potential film projects. At 343 Industries from September 2020 to March 2023, Staten led the creative direction for Halo Infinite, contributing to its record-breaking launch. Prior to that, as Senior Creative Director at Microsoft, significant contributions were made to Xbox Games Studios' global publishing efforts. Staten's early career included key roles at Bungie, where foundational work on the Destiny universe was performed and innovative game concepts were developed for titles such as Halo 3: ODST.
