Katherine Wallace

Katherine Wallace has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Katherine is currently working as the Director of Engineering at Duolingo since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Oscar Health starting in September 2015. At Oscar Health, Katherine held multiple positions, including Director of Engineering from September 2021 to July 2022, Tech lead/Manager from October 2018 to September 2021, Senior Software Engineer/Tech lead from October 2017 to October 2018, and Software Engineer from June 2015 to October 2017. Before joining Oscar Health, Katherine worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Monaeo from May 2014 to June 2015. Katherine also gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at App Academy from March 2014 to May 2014, where they assisted with teaching and curriculum for a 12-week intensive full stack Ruby/Rails web development course. Katherine started their career as a Ph.D. Student at the NYU Department of Linguistics in September 2011 and completed their studies in December 2013.

Katherine Wallace earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Linguistics at New York University from 2011 to 2013.
