Milo Polte

Milo Polte has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Milo started their career at WibiData in 2012, where they worked as a Software Engineer and later took on the role of Tech Lead/Engineering Manager. At WibiData, they played a crucial role in the company's growth from six to over forty employees. Milo was responsible for developing a personalization platform and applications on top of Hadoop, HBase, and Cassandra. Additionally, they led the effort to open source the technology by breaking down the tasks for the entire team.

After leaving WibiData in February 2015, Milo joined Dropbox as a Software Engineer. Milo worked there until December 2016, gaining valuable experience in software development.

In 2017, Milo moved on to Trace Genomics, where they held the position of Senior Software Engineer. Milo contributed to the company's software engineering efforts until April 2020.

Currently, Milo is working at Duolingo. Milo joined the company in December 2020 as a Senior Software Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Senior Site Reliability Engineer in October 2022.

Milo attended Cornell University from 1999 to 2005. Following this, Milo pursued further education at Carnegie Mellon University, where they obtained a Masters Degree in Computer Science from 2006 to 2011, specializing in Parallel filesystems and high-performance storage.
