Sean Scott

Sean Scott has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sean started their career as a Chemical Development Intern at Boehringer Ingelheim in 2010, where they ran laboratory tests for chemicals in development. In 2011, they interned at Nielsen, where they prepared client presentations and recommended price points for personal care brands.

From 2012 to 2014, Sean worked as a Research Intern at IBM, focusing on research projects. Sean then embarked on software engineering internships at Facebook and Google in 2013 and 2014, respectively. At Facebook, they integrated data sources to enhance a tool that identifies inefficient code, while at Google, they improved the error flow of a backend sales tool.

Sean joined Blink Health in 2016, initially as a Software Engineer and later as a Tech Lead. Sean took full technical ownership of the SMS system, developed an auto-payment system, and improved the coupon selection algorithm. In 2018, they joined HQ Trivia as a Software Engineer, where they stabilized core gameplay logic and implemented new features.

Sean’s next position in 2018 was with Emirates as a Cabin Crew member, gaining experience in the airline industry. Sean then returned to software engineering at Duolingo in 2020 as a Senior Software Engineer. Sean progressed to the role of Tech Lead/Senior Software Engineer and ultimately became a Staff Software Engineer/Team Lead.

Throughout their career, Sean has demonstrated their technical skills, leadership abilities, and adaptability across various industries and roles.

Sean Scott earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, where they attended from 2011 to 2015.
