Toby Mellor

Toby Mellor has had a diverse work experience. Toby began their career as a Junior Web Developer at Savvy Creative in 2015. Toby then worked as a Web Developer at Blimey Creative in 2017. In 2014, they founded their own company, One Kudos Limited, which offered game server management services. From 2012 to 2014, they operated as a sole trader. Toby also worked at HQ Trivia, where they held various roles, including Software Engineer and Software Engineering Contractor. During their time at HQ Trivia, Toby led the migration from Flow to TypeScript and developed the Node API for a significant revenue-driving project. Most recently, Toby joined Duolingo as an Engineer in 2020.

Toby Mellor started their education at TootHill School and College in 2009 and completed their A-Levels in 2016. Toby then pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science degree at Loughborough University from 2016 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Toby received a Private Pilots Licence (PPL(H)) from the Civil Aviation Authority in September 2015 and a Rockschool Drums Grade 4 certification from ROCKSCHOOL MUSIC LTD in 2013.
