DURNACOL Skills Hub, founded by Alice Pool in 2008, is a technical training center that focuses on empowering young black youth - particularly within the local Durnacol community and the surrounding rural area. To date, the technical center has attracted students as far as Kenya and Mauritius and aims to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for all their students. DURNACOL Skills Hub provides theoretical as well as practical training to ensure that the learners are well equipped for the work environment. The list of courses available at this institution includes diesel mechanic, electrician, fitter and turner, mechanical fitter, millwright, welder and marine engineer, among others.
