Vipul Kumar

Vipul Kumar has a diverse and extensive work experience. Vipul is currently working as the Vice President and Head of Product Engineering and Sustainability at Duroflex since September 2021. Prior to this, Vipul worked as a Freelancing Design and Engineering Consultant from April 2021 to September 2021.

Before their freelance work, Vipul held a significant role at Wipro Enterprises P Limited in Bangalore. From June 2006 to May 2020, they served as the General Manager and Head of Product Design and Quality for their Furniture Business. Vipul played a key role in establishing Wipro as a leading innovator in the Indian Furniture Industry through the implementation of their "Design and Innovation" philosophy. Vipul was responsible for strategizing new product development, concept creation, and production facility setup.

Vipul also gained valuable experience at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. where they worked from October 2004 to June 2006. During their tenure, they served as a Senior Manager, leading the New Product Development and Research & Development team. Vipul successfully introduced a wide range of new products for warehousing storage solutions and utilized advanced technologies like Finite Element Analysis and Computer Simulations to optimize design and material. Vipul's contributions led to product certifications and the opportunity for export business.

Prior to Godrej & Boyce, Vipul worked at Tata Motors from July 1992 to June 1995 as a Design Engineer. Vipul joined the company through campus placement and received comprehensive training across three plants. Vipul also played a crucial role as a founding member of the Design team at the Telco plant in Lucknow.

Vipul Kumar obtained a B Sc. Engg. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, from 1988 to 1992. Vipul then pursued a Post Graduation degree in Industrial Design - Product Design from the National Institute of Design, from 1995 to 1998. Vipul also completed a Senior Leadership Program in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, although the specific start-date and end-date for this program are not provided. In addition to their formal education, Vipul obtained certifications in the Senior Leadership Program in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in February 2017 and as an IGBC Accredited Professional from the CII - Indian Green Building Council in August 2014.
