The DVB Project is an industry-led consortium of the world's leading digital television and technology companies, who work together to design open
technical specifications for digital media delivery. Founded in 1994, DVB counts manufacturers, software developers, network operators, broadcasters and regulators among its members. 
The truly global standard for digital television, DVB specifications are used on every continent and in every country, with more than 1.5 billion DVB receivers in use.
DVB specifications are commercially driven and maximize the use of
common solutions across broadcast – satellite, cable, terrestrial – and
broadband networks. The success of our standards benefits both the DVB Members who develop them and the industry as a whole.
