Giada Cantono

Giada Cantono has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Giada started their career as a Master Thesis Student at Queen's University Belfast, where they conducted experimental activities related to laser research. Giada then worked as a PHD Researcher at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, where they designed and performed laser-plasma acceleration experiments.

After completing their PhD, Giada became a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lund University, where they focused on laser-driven ion acceleration and improving lab efficiency through better documentation and communication. Giada then worked as a System Verification Engineer at Lumito AB, where they set up the strategy for system verification of WSI Scanners.

Giada later joined DVel as a Consultant, where they utilized their research skills to work on various assignments for different clients, focusing on information management and problem-solving. Currently, they are working at Axis Communications as a Product Imaging Engineer, collaborating with optical and software engineers to deliver the best image quality in thermal cameras and adapting imaging and processing algorithms to different products.

Giada Cantono began their education at the University of Pisa in 2008, earning a Bachelor's degree in Physics in 2011. Giada continued their studies at the same university, completing a Master's degree in Physics from 2011 to 2014. During this time, they focused on the field of Plasma and High-Temperature Physics. In 2014, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Plasma and High-Temperature Physics, simultaneously studying at both the University of Pisa and Université Paris-Saclay. Giada successfully obtained their PhD from both universities in 2017.

In 2019, Giada Cantono expanded their knowledge by enrolling in a certificate program in Computer Programming at Udacity, which they completed in 2020. Additionally, they obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and qualifications. In 2020, they became an IOP trusted reviewer, certified by the Institute of Physics. Giada furthered their professional development in 2020 by completing a course on Learning and teaching in higher education: theory and practice offered by Lund University. In 2021, they obtained a certification in Giornalismo scientifico: teoria e tecniche di divulgazione from Feltrinelli Education and one in Programming for Data Science with Python from Udacity.
