Chanakya Sethi

Chanakya Sethi is a partner at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, specializing in litigation with a strong track record in high-stakes trials and appeals across Canada and the United States. Notably, Chan led the legal team for Shaw Communications in a landmark trial concerning a C$26-billion merger. Chan's previous roles include law clerk positions at the U.S. District Court and the Supreme Court of Canada, and associate roles at Williams & Connolly LLP and Wilkinson Stekloff LLP, where they defended major clients in significant antitrust and copyright cases. In addition to their legal practice, Chan has passionately engaged in pro bono work focusing on the rights of LGBT individuals, immigrants, and people with disabilities. Chan is currently pursuing degrees at Upper Canada College, York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, and Princeton University, alongside having earned an LL.M. from Yale Law School.
