Stephan Matthaei

Stephan Matthaei, CFA, currently serves as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Fixed Income at DWS Group, overseeing Euro aggregate multi-sector institutional mandates totaling approximately €2 billion and leading research on sovereigns, SSAs, and covered bonds, as well as digital bond investments. Prior experience includes roles as an intern at Allianz, where infrastructure investment proposals exceeding $300 million were prepared, and at Deutsche Bank, working on projects that contributed to an equity story for the IPO of DWS. Further experiences encompass research assistant work at the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance, involvement in a macroeconomic modeling project at Deutsche Bundesbank, and corporate finance internships at Baader Bank AG. Matthaei holds a Master of Arts in Banking and Finance from the University of St.Gallen, along with extensive international academic exposure from prestigious institutions including CUHK Business School and Harvard University.
