James Cameron began their professional career in 2011 when they joined Morrisons as a Customer Service Assistant. In 2014, they worked for the University of Strathclyde as part of their Chemistry Clinic, meeting with representatives from external companies to identify challenges and provide feedback. In 2016, they worked at the University of Strathclyde's Centre for Forensic Science as a Laboratory Video Producer, recording and editing tutorial laboratory videos. In 2018, they were awarded a travel award from ScotCHEM to undertake a research project at the University of Tours in France. In 2019, they worked for The Brilliant Club as a Chemistry Tutor, teaching primary 7 pupils about the science involved in the baking process. In 2020, they began working at Dxcover as a Senior Scientist and Clinical Spectroscopy Research Scientist, developing a spectroscopic liquid biopsy with artificial intelligence for the early detection of cancer.
James Cameron attended St Andrew's and St Bride's High School from 2006 to 2011. James then went on to the University of Strathclyde, where they obtained a Master of Chemistry (MChem) in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry in 2016, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Pure and Applied Chemistry in 2020. Currently, they are enrolled in the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School, where they are studying Practical Project Management.
