Mark Dawson

Technical Solutions Architect

Mark Dawson is a Technical Solutions Architect and food historian researching and delivering talks on food history, particularly in 16th and 17th century England. They have published numerous articles and authored three books, including *Plenti and Grase* (2009) and *A Saucy Tale, the history of Henderson's Relish* (2021). Currently, Mark chairs the organizing committee for the Leeds Symposium on Food History and Traditions, contributing to the annual conference and co-editing publications like *The Domestic Dairy* (2018). Previously, they held roles at Royal Mail and CSC as a Senior Unix Technician and worked as an Application Developer before becoming a Technical Solutions Architect at DXC Technology in 2013. Mark earned a PhD in History from the University of Nottingham after completing both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in History from Lancaster University and The University of Sheffield, respectively.
