Eric Shim serves as the Lead Scientist at Dyson, focusing on personal care research, design, and development since September 2021. In this role, Eric has implemented a multi-year innovation strategy and founded a new scientific research lab in Singapore to advance technology and patentable claims in the personal care sector. Prior to Dyson, Eric held the position of Regional R&D Manager and Principal Scientist at Suntory Beverage & Food Asia, where expertise in ingredient development and clinical trials led to successful product commercialization across Asia-Pacific markets. Eric's earlier experience includes a postgraduate researcher role at Nanyang Technological University, where impactful research resulted in four peer-reviewed publications and innovative detection methods for adulteration in edible bird's nests. Eric holds a PhD in Chemistry/Food Science from Nanyang Technological University and is currently pursuing a Specialist Diploma in Cosmetic Sciences.
