Richard Smith

Richard Smith is a Senior Policy Advisor at E3G, specializing in EU energy diplomacy and energy geopolitics. They previously served as a Policy Advisor at E3G and held roles in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including as a Second Secretary for Foreign Policy at the UK Mission to the EU, focusing on sanctions and sustainable development. Richard gained initial experience as a Policy Intern at the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge. They earned a PhD in Ocean and Earth Science from the University of Southampton and a BA/MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
