The story of Earl’s Court Group begins in the misty, mountain citadel of Kandy over a decade ago. Being a visionary and a true Kandyan at heart, Earl Gunasekera, saw the non-existence of a luxury hotel in Kandy and decided to build one to meet the rising demand of tourists.

Thus, in 1999 Earl’s Regency was born and still remains, to this day, one of the best in Kandy. After 2014, the Kandy City Hotel and Earl’s Regent were opened. The year 2016 marked a milestone in the group’s history as Earl’s Court Group ventured into Sri Lanka’s beloved southern coast with Earl’s Reef Beruwala. With the aim of creating unique holiday experiences, Earl’s Hotels is set to launch its next property in the charming coastal city of Negombo, towards the end of 2018.

One of its latest projects is the high-end seafood restaurant, Black Pepper which promises “More than Just Crab!” Located in one of Colombo’s trendiest hangout spots, the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, the Black Pepper restaurant brings you mouth-watering, authentic dishes from the North, South, East and West of Sri Lanka, presented with a sensational, signature twist!
