John Coburn

John Coburn is currently the Head of Legal at Earnest. John has over 20 years of experience in the legal field, specializing in consumer and business credit, credit cards, unsecured and secured lending, new product development, digital platform support, debit cards, prepaid card products, network processing, payments, collections/bankruptcy, call center support, privacy, regulatory support, state and national bank issues.

Coburn started their legal career at Conn's in 1997 as Vice President of Legal Affairs. John then spent six years at Alliance Data as Senior Director. In 2005, they joined SCP Health as General Counsel for Patient Solutions. John left SCP Health in 2012 to join Huntington National Bank as Vice President. After four years at Huntington, Coburn joined Fifth Third Bank as Vice President in 2016. John left Fifth Third Bank in 2018 to join Earnest as Head of Legal.

John Coburn attended South Texas College of Law Houston, where they received their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. John also attended Our Lady of the Lake University, where they received their MBA in finance.

Their manager is David Green, CEO. John Coburn works with Jason Williams - COO, Craig Battin - VP, Marketing & Partnerships, and Scarlett Lee - Head of Lending Products.
